Seymour Duncan: Tradition, Passion, and Attention to Detail
Quality and Passion - Made in USA
For over 50 years, Seymour W. Duncan has been dedicated to combining quality and innovation in pickups. And the team around Seymour and his wife Cathy has mastered this task brilliantly. However, the story did not begin in Santa Barbara, where the US company has been based for over 50 years - but in London. There, Duncan worked as a guitar repairman for Fender and made a name for himself at a young age. Renowned guitarists such as Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, and Jeff Beck were among his customers at the time. In the 1970s, he moved back to California, where Seymour and Cathy founded their own company with his name and became a manufacturer of their own Seymour Duncan Pickups with a focus on Tele and Stratocasters. And as if this career path wasn't enough of an argument for passion and quality, Seymour Duncan even started a long-lasting cooperation and friendship with Seth Lover, one of the world's most famous pickup designers, who began his musical life's work at Gibson. To this day, the Seth Lover Humbucker Set is still one of Seymour Duncan's best-selling humbuckers.

From Pickups to Pedals to Spare Parts
Since then, the portfolio has expanded significantly and now includes single coils, humbuckers, Tele pickups, pickups for acoustic guitars with nylon or steel strings, as well as everything for the bass. Whether rock, blues, jazz, or metal - Seymour Duncan offers the perfect pickup for every musical style. From vintage sounds to modern high-gain monsters, the selection of models is huge. And in addition to the enormous selection of pickups for electric and acoustic guitars, the range for the bass is not neglected either. From the classic P-Bass to the modern Jazz-Bass sound, the selection leaves nothing to be desired. The precisely installed Alnico magnets, which vary depending on the pickup model, Duncan guarantees the highest possible sound quality. Alnico 2 magnets offer a low output but decent dynamics with rich mids and open lows, while a high output with lots of highs is delivered by Alnico 5 magnets. There are many reasons why various musicians swear by the quality of Seymour Duncan - just to name a few: Slash, Jay Bentley, Matt Bellamy, Lari Basilio, or Josh Homme are enthusiastic users. Each pickup is handmade in California and consists only of the highest quality materials - perfect for your custom sound too!
And Duncan hasn't stopped at pickups: Various pedals are also developed and built in Santa Barbara, which, in combination with the pickups, pave the way to the perfect set! And as if that wasn't enough, Seymour Duncan also produces amplifiers for optimal synergy! You can find a large selection directly in our shop.
Even though Seymour Duncan's flagship products are of course the first-class humbuckers, Tele and Strat pickups, it's still worth looking at the extensive pedal selection. In our Pedalpedia you can take a closer look at pedals and even put together your own virtual pedalboard. https://www.rockboard.de/en/pedalboards/
A hot tip from us: Seymour Duncan's Overdrive and Distortion Pedals are insane.
