MEC stands for “Music Electronic Company”, and the name has become synonymous with first-grade pickups, electronics, switches, potentiometers, and other components for musical instruments. The company was founded in 1987 by Vlado Hansal who, at that time, already had worked 25 years for Framus & Warwick, creating electronics and pickups for thousands of guitars and basses. The close cooperation with Framus & Warwick continues and MEC has developed numerous innovations that are being used by many other guitar and bass brands, too.
