Framus: Vintage Series Studio 5/51
Between the 1950s and 1970s, Framus had crafted many electro-acoustic guitars with characteristic arched tops that became iconic for their great tone and playability. The new Studio 5/51 now brings the vibe of these sought-after vintage guitars "from the Heart of Bavaria" to the present day.
For re-designing the Studio model, many original instruments and documents from the Framus Museum in Markneukirchen were used. Accordingly, the features are composed most authentically: set-neck construction, C-profile Maple neck, a slim arched-top body from laminated Maple, a wood-based bridge, bone nut, electronics with a passive Framus mini-humbucker and controls for Volume and Tone.
The Studio 5/51 is available in three high-polish finishes: Honey Sunburst Transparent, Burgundy Blackburst Transparent, and Solid Black. This very first archtop model in the new Framus Vintage Series whets the appetite for some Jazz, Gypsy, Folk, or Blues. Now, the only open questions is: Which other rare iconic models are also ripe for a reissue?
