Framus Artist Line: 2 New D-Series Signature Models
Distinctively different...
Two very distinct, modern guitar designs are extending the choice of models in the economically priced Framus D-Series. In the broadest sense, both of them are rock guitars that were originally developed as signature instruments together with the artists. Premium versions have already been around for a while. Now, equipped with more affordable but still high-quality features, the nice-priced variants show all the more the great potential of these unique designs.
The Talisman of William DuVall
The almost symmetrical body shape of the Talisman grew out of a design by William DuVall that was inspired by his lady Teresa. The guitar has a full, resonant tone with long sustain because its Mahogany neck and body are joined together into one body of sound by means of set-neck construction. The two passive pickups can be used either singly or combined, and have a volume and control pot each. In this way, it is very easy to switch between different tones. What is hardly noticeable due to the chrome covers: The Talisman is available with humbuckers either by Framus or Seymour Duncan.
Devin Townsend's Stormbender
Also the "axe of Heavy Devy" comes with two pickup options: either Fishman Fluence Townsend Signature pickups or a pair of Framus H-A are at choice. As an outstanding feature, an AAAA Flamed Maple top is visible through the transparent high-polish finish of this guitar, improving its tonal qualities. Underneath, a Mahogany body is combined with a Maple neck. Here, the set-construction with a deep cut is smoothed so that it almost looks and feels like a neck-through.
How about even more signature specs?
Aesthetic details such as the custom inlays in body or fretboard illustrate the consistently high quality of these two signature models. By the way: Even more such eye candy and features of the highest quality can be had in the TeamBuilt, MasterBuilt, and Custom Shop models of these designs. Absolutely worth seeing – and hearing, of course!
