The Death By Audio Total Sonic Annihilation 2 (TSA2) works on a simple premise: what if effect pedals were patched back into themselves? What does it sound like for a filter to be multiplied by infinity? Or if your modulator was modulating its own modulations? The TSA2 creates a controllable feedback loop, causing your pedals to cycle back on themselves, feeding the output back into the input as much or as little as you want. Experience true sonic exploration: every unique pedal array will produce a vast world of textures and possibilities. If you've used a feedback loop pedal before, (like the 1st edition of the Total Sonic Annihilation) then you know the vast world of insane and wild sounds you can get. With this new updated version of the original, the active boost maximizes usability for many applications where the original fell short. The Fuzz Master General is our take on the vintage Ace Tone Fuzz Master FM-2 Professional fuzz machine, an octave fuzz that was very similar to the wildly popular Super Fuzz. We have taken the basic circuit and re-imagineered it to be more useful for the modern player. The Fuzz Master General features a more accurate Fuzz control that delivers a much broader spectrum of dirt tones ranging from nearly clean through full buzz saw assault. We added a Voice toggle to further enhance your dirt desires and wrangle a more variable tone out of the classic circuit. This toggle selects between germanium, silicon and no diode clipping. This has a huge impact on the characteristics of fuzz tone, upper octave clarity and output level. Germanium diodes offer more output and an open, looser fuzz tone while the silicon diodes compress the signal and yield a tighter fuzz tone. When the voice is set to no diode clipping (center position) you can attain a nearly clean upper octave that borders on ring modulation! While the original Fuzz Master had a foot switch to select between two different tone settings, the Fuzz Master General has a variable Tone control that allows you to dial in everything in between a wide-open treble assault and a super-scooped, bass-heavy vintage unit. EarthQuaker Devices Gary - Automatic Pulse Width Modulation Fuzz and Dynamic Natural Overdrive
EarthQuaker Devices is proud to introduce you to your new best bud, Gary. This little big guy was dreamt up by the one and only Lee Kiernan from the crushing and most necessary band, Idles! Gary started as a simple request to create a compact version of the now discontinued Gray Channel, which was a mainstay on Lee’s board and a big part of his main drive tone. This was all fine and good, and sounded quite sick, but Gary was demanding that we look deeper and explore his dark side a little more, Gary after dark, Saturday night Gary. So, we sat him down and began the trek of figuring old Gare-Bear out once and for all. The result is a real exercise in light and dark; smooth to shredded and everything in between. Gary’s right brain consists of a dynamic and destructive fuzz that is both domineering and interactive. It is a ripping fuzz tone with an envelope-controlled variable pulse width and enough volume to blow everything up. This nasty little fuzz turns the signal into a square wave and allows you to dynamically adjust the duty cycle with pick attack. Yes! Controls the sensitivity of the envelope. When this is all the way down you will get an unadulterated thick and heavy square wave fuzz tone that will sustain for days and go dead quiet when you stop playing. As you increase the Yes! control, the envelope becomes more interactive, and the pulse width narrows the harder you hit it. As the pulse width narrows, the tone becomes more nasal and biting until it gets so narrow that Gary goes to his dark place and disappears completely. In other words, with higher sensitivity settings, the sound will disappear entirely and come cruising back to Gary’s big guy tone. With proper playing dynamics, this creates a very cool effect that can sound like an exploding amp coming in and out of life, blown through a phase shifter. This effect can also be controlled with an expression pedal for manual operation or for finding just the right pulse width to cut through the mix for a set-and-forget operation. When using an expression pedal, Yes! operates in conjunction with the expression pedal to set the peak of the sweep. Set Yes! to the desired stopping point and express yourself as you please without worry of taking Gary over the edge! Oosh acts as the master volume for Gary’s nasty side. There is an insane amount of volume on tap so use this control wisely! Gary’s left brain displays his softer side. This is a simple and natural sounding overdrive that keeps your tone lively and drives your amp crazy. EarthQuaker Devices is proud to introduce you to your new best bud, Gary. This little big guy was dreamt up by the one and only Lee Kiernan from the crushing and most necessary band, Idles! Gary started as a simple request to create a compact version of the now discontinued Gray Channel, which was a mainstay on Lee’s board and a big part of his main drive tone. This was all fine and good, and sounded quite sick, but Gary was demanding that we look deeper and explore his dark side a little more, Gary after dark, Saturday night Gary. So, we sat him down and began the trek of figuring old Gare-Bear out once and for all. The result is a real exercise in light and dark; smooth to shredded and everything in between. Gary’s right brain consists of a dynamic and destructive fuzz that is both domineering and interactive. It is a ripping fuzz tone with an envelope-controlled variable pulse width and enough volume to blow everything up. This nasty little fuzz turns the signal into a square wave and allows you to dynamically adjust the duty cycle with pick attack. Yes! Controls the sensitivity of the envelope. When this is all the way down you will get an unadulterated thick and heavy square wave fuzz tone that will sustain for days and go dead quiet when you stop playing. As you increase the Yes! control, the envelope becomes more interactive, and the pulse width narrows the harder you hit it. As the pulse width narrows, the tone becomes more nasal and biting until it gets so narrow that Gary goes to his dark place and disappears completely. In other words, with higher sensitivity settings, the sound will disappear entirely and come cruising back to Gary’s big guy tone. With proper playing dynamics, this creates a very cool effect that can sound like an exploding amp coming in and out of life, blown through a phase shifter. This effect can also be controlled with an expression pedal for manual operation or for finding just the right pulse width to cut through the mix for a set-and-forget operation. When using an expression pedal, Yes! operates in conjunction with the expression pedal to set the peak of the sweep. Set Yes! to the desired stopping point and express yourself as you please without worry of taking Gary over the edge! Oosh acts as the master volume for Gary’s nasty side. There is an insane amount of volume on tap so use this control wisely! Gary’s left brain displays his softer side. EarthQuaker Devices Hizumitas - Fuzz Sustainer
The EarthQuaker Devices Hizumitas was designed for the one and only Wata from the legendary experimental band Boris, one of the heaviest bands ever to come out of Japan. Hizumitas is a faithful recreation of Wata's go-to distortion pedal, the Elk BM Sustainar. The Elk is a Japanese variant of the very well-known Triangle BMP. The designers at EQD tried several vintage BMP's during development, found that each pedal was wildly different and realized that to truly capture the magic they needed the original. Wata graciously sent her beloved pedal halfway around the world, and EQD discovered that it had something special the others didn't have: heavy saturation with a gritty edge and massive bottom while maintaining a clear and dynamic tone with enough mids and top end to cut through any sludge. The studious wizards at EQD have built all of those characteristics into the Hizumitas! The pedal brings loads of heavy distortion and smooth sustain and an underlying grit that sounds like the speakers are on the verge of ripping apart while delivering amazing and unexpected clarity from such an aggressive sounding pedal. The Sustain control has a wide range of saturation, meaning even small changes will significantly affect the overall tone. Hizumitas responds excellently to all types of pickups and playing dynamics. Your power chords will sound huge and heavy, while open chords will be dynamic with fantastic note separation, and single note leads will come across smooth and powerful, especially with the neck pickup. The Tone control is atypical for this type of distortion and can drastically change the distortion's character in conjunction with the Sustain setting. Bass frequencies are boosted clockwise, and treble frequencies are boosted counterclockwise. The tone control can go from an aggressive mid-range grind to piercing highs as you turn it counterclockwise. As you turn it clockwise, the mids become less present, the highs are tamed, and a humongous, thundering low end comes to the forefront. The EarthQuaker Devices Sunn O))) Life Pedal V3 offers distortion, boost and an adjustable octave-up effect in a compact effects pedal. The 'Amplitude' section of the pedal is based on the classic 'White Face' distortion pedal, but the circuitry has been expanded to include three selectable clipping modes. The first position (No Diode OpAmp Drive) offers a rich drive at maximum volume. The second position uses two silicon diodes and a LED in an asymmetrical clipping configuration and produces a slightly compressed, smooth crunch reminiscent of an overdriven amp. The third position uses two silicon diodes and produces the classic 'white face' sound. The Octave-Up section is completely analogue and can be mixed with the distortion via a knob or an optional expression pedal. The monophonic effect works 'cleanest' with single notes above the 12th fret played through the neck pickup. Chords produce a chaotic, 'clanging' sound.
