Since its development in the early nineties, The Alien has made a remarkable career for an acoustic bass. Of course, this is partly due to its distinctive appearance. But what is more, this bass has an enormously resonating body and outstanding tonal precision, which qualifies it for dynamic expressive finger-style playing as well slapping, tapping, and other percussive techniques. Its well-conceived design borrows elements from Warwick electric basses, as for example the Just-a-Nut construction, so that it works great even for 5- and 6-stringed as well as fretless basses.
