Since it was first revealed in 2008, the U•Bass has not only been praised for its “colossal low end and huge fun factor” – it also established a serious legacy among professional bass players for its quality craftsmanship and great versatility. The original acoustic-electric U•Bass was co-developed by ukulele builder Owen Holt and KALA founder Mike Upton who is a bassist himself. With the player's experience in mind, the KALA Brand Music Co. have further enhanced and diversified the look and feel of the U•Bass to make it truly the most enjoyable small-scale bass on the market. As a result, a wide range of models with upright-like polyurethane strings, more vintage-sounding round-wound strings, or even the purely electric California Series is available for all kinds of bass tastes.
