Sadowsky MasterBuilt instruments are, according to Roger himself, “as close as it gets” to the high-end instruments he builds in his workshop in New York City. That is because he was personally involved in the whole development process of all the designs, from the selection of tonewood combinations to the finishes and premium features. Roger deliberately chose to have his basses manufactured in series under license in our climate-neutral production in Germany – thus making it possible for more musicians than ever before to play a genuine Sadowsky. With classic looks but all the modern improvements that have gained his instruments such a good reputation in more than forty years: Chambered bodies with modified shaping for less weight and more comfortable playing. Higher-end hardware, hum-cancelling pickups, and last but not least the legendary Sadowsky preamp with “boost only” EQ for maximally versatile, always tight tone.

The Sadowsky MasterBuilt series represents the best that Sadowsky has to offer. But who is Roger Sadowsky and why are we so proud to partner with such a legend? For over 40 years, Roger Sadowsky has been crafting high-quality electric guitars and basses and has collaborated with various music icons throughout his long career. Prince, Bruce Springsteen, Jason Newsted, and Keith Richards are among the group of Sadowsky enthusiasts. The unique "Sadowsky Sound" made Roger Sadowsky famous worldwide.

This was all because, in 1977, he modified Marcus Miller's Fender Jazz Bass with a built-in preamp and other adjustments until the sound met Roger's high standards. He capitalized on this success and founded Sadowsky Guitars, which is now one of the most sought-after brands in the world. Since 2019, we at Warwick have had the honor of living Roger's dream of high-quality instruments together with him by manufacturing not only the Sadowsky MasterBuilt, but also the Sadowsky MetroLine in our German work-shop. Additionally, the Sadowsky MetroExpress is manufactured under our strict quality control in China.

Due to the close collaboration with Roger on the optimal bass design, tonewood combinations, and all features like the climate-neutral and meticulous production in Germany, these instruments come "as close as it gets" to the high-end instruments he personally handcrafts in his workshop in New York.
